Crank Handle for Norwood Looms

This custom designed crank handle is especially made for Norwood Looms. It is made of solid maple with a heavy duty rolling hand piece and stainless steel set screw.  Note: Handle is designed for full size Norwood Floor Looms, not workshop style looms which are designed to be transported easily.

Why not cherry? Maple is much stronger than cherry and capable of handling the wear and tear of years of warping. Other woods are not as strong for this important handle.

Benefits of this crank handle include:

     -Fits snuggly on the warp beam post.

     -Thumb screw tightens on the loom post so handle remains securely attached 

    -It can also be easily removed and stored when not in use.

     -Longer length gives more turning power

     -Wooden handle is 2 inches longer than original Norwood design.

     -The black knob spins to avoid friction on your hand.

     -Fits all age Norwood looms.

This handle is now our go-to handle when warping all of our Norwood looms. It doesn't wobble or fall off like the original metal handle. This new handle was designed and made by my husband, Eric Bartkus. His expertise as a design engineer, woodworker and weaver is the perfect combination for solving the missing or ill fitting Norwood crank handle problems. He has definitely improved the original design.
